A 31-year-old man has been arrested in Limassol after crashing his quad bike while trying to escape a police check. The incident unfolded yesterday afternoon when police noticed the rider operating the vehicle without registration plates and not wearing a helmet.

According to police reports, an officer signalled for the quad bike to stop for inspection. Instead of complying, the driver attempted to flee, driving against the flow of traffic in a reckless manner. This dangerous manoeuvre ultimately led to a collision with another vehicle, which immobilised the man.
Upon his arrest, authorities discovered a small quantity of cannabis, a grinder, and a knife in the man’s possession, prompting charges for multiple offences. Emergency services attended the scene, and the injured driver was transported to Limassol General Hospital, where he is being treated for a spinal fracture.
